Boys Tennis #1 Player Stays Undefeated

Atlantic’s #1 player remains undefeated. Yesterday, April 21, boys and girls tennis played the Denison Monarchs. Senior Nick Podhajsky notched up his 4th singles victory of the season. His record now stands at 4-0.

The boys lost in Denison 3-6, and the girls lost at home 0-9.

In singles, #1 (Nick) Podhajsky won 10-8, #2 freshman Grant Podhajsky lost 10-11, #3 senior Ben Parker lost 3-10, #4 senior Kyle Krueger won 10-3, #5 freshman Cooper McDermott lost 10-6, and #6 senior Cain Stuart lost 10-7. In doubles, #1 (Nick) Podhajsky and (Grant) Podhajsky lost 6-10, #2 Parker and Krueger lost 5-10, and #3 McDermott and freshman Luke Hohenberger won 11-10.

On the girls side in singles, #1 senior Codi Hitch lost 0-8, #2 sophomore Jena Brosam lost 0-8, #3 senior Grace Jacob lost 0-8, #4 sophomore Olivia Davis lost 1-8, #5 sophomore Bailey Steffens lost 0-8, and #6 sophomore Sydney Redler lost 1-8. In doubles, #1 Hitch and Brosam lost 0-8, #2 Jacob and Redler lost 0-8, and #3 Davis and Steffens lost 1-8.

This Thursday, April 23, the boys and girls play the Clarinda Cardinals. Girls play at home, and the boys play away.
