Two Students Awarded at Mr. AHS

Last Friday, the Mr. AHS contest took place at the TWIRP assembly. All week, students were to bring money to vote for what contestant had the best legs. The contestants were seniors Reid Nichols, Joey Walker, Skyler Svoboda, Casey Ihnen, Ben Parker, and Justin Somers.

Nichols represented wrestling, Walker represented basketball, Svoboda represented football, Ihnen represented journalism, Parker represented drama, and Somers represented band.

During the talent portion of the contest, Nichols hog tied a calf dummy, Walker sang “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with freshman Cole Jipsen, Svoboda did the worm, Ihnen had a staring contest with the judges, and Parker and Somers performed an interpretive dance to “Sandstorm.”

Nichols won the Mr. AHS award and the best legs award. Walker won Mr. Congeniality.

Nichols said, “It was pretty cool! It was just really fun to compete with the other contestants and mess around. I had a lot of fun.”

Walker said, “It feels incredible to have won Mr. Congeniality. It’s a very life changing event to have that kind of responsibility and power in your hands, now I feel unstoppable.”
