This past weekend, the Trojan girls basketball team suffered two losses to Kuemper-Catholic (37-49) and St. Albert (52-59,) dropping their record to 4-6 leading into Tuesday’s contest against Harlan. Head coach Kelly Juhl said, “We showed great effort against two tough teams in our conference. We battled them all night long and just came up a little short in the end. The good thing to see was our effort and attitudes were strong and no one quit.”
Junior Erin Olsen lead the team against St. Albert, tackling at least 23 points (five three pointers) on the evening. Juhl said this was a highlight of the weekend. He also said that the girls had solid performances in each game.
According to Juhl, improvements made include reducing turnovers, attacking the basket, and coming together as a team more. “I am feeling good about the improvements we are making, we need to continue to work hard everyday to get better,” said Juhl.
The Trojans hosted the Harlan Cyclones on Tuesday night, and lost after a hard fight. A story about this came will be posted later this week.
