The Trojans 2014 football season wrapped up last Friday night with a 63-28 loss to the Creston Panthers. Seniors Tristen Benn, Collin Baker and Joey Walker all scored for the Trojans. Benn had one touchdown, Baker had two, and Walker had one.

Head coach Eric Waldstein said, “I was happy with the first part of the first quarter, and then we just couldn’t get things going. We challenged them (the team) at halftime to not quit and roll over. They came out fighting in the second half, scored on some great plays, and were able to cut Creston’s lead.” Waldstein also commented, “We just got down too far in the first half and weren’t able to overcome that deficit.”

Benn said, “I think we started out good. The game didn’t go how we would have liked it to, but we didn’t quit and had some fun at the end competing a little.” Senior Tyler Thomas agreed to what Benn had to say. Thomas adds, “We started off strong, but we lost all momentum and had way too many penalties. Our offense didn’t start rolling again until about the fourth quarter.”

The Trojans ended the season 3-6 and sixth in District 8.
