It’s Homecoming Week at Atlantic High School, and to kick off the festivities for this week was the first round of dodgeball: juniors vs. freshmen and seniors vs. sophomores.

The game started out with the juniors and freshmen playing each other, going with the best two out of three games.  For both games the juniors ended it by overpowering the amount of freshmen left on the court.  Only two games were played, and the juniors won both.  Junior Laeni Pelzer thinks they played a lot better and had a lot more participation than in the past years.

The next game was the seniors against the sophomores, and again was the best two out of three games.  The seniors defeated the sophomores in both games.  Senior Steph Freund said, “I think the sportsmanship was very good since we won.”

The sophomores and freshmen will play against each other on Thursday for 3rd and 4th place, and the juniors and seniors will play against each other to fight for the winning title.  If the seniors win on Thursday, it will be the second year in a row of them being dodgeball champions.
