After coming off a strong week three defeat over the Glenwood Rams, the Trojans suffer a loss to the ADM Tigers, 7-17.

Head coach Eric Waldstein said, “I told the guys all week that the margin of error in our district games would be paper thin, 5 or 6 plays. Whoever makes those 5 or 6 plays will come out on top, and we didn’t make those 5-6 plays.” The Trojans had a touchdown that was called back due to a block in the back penalty. Seniors Tristen Benn and Tyler Thomas agreed that they need less penalties and turnovers.

According to Waldstein, no one really stood out as outstanding.  “We had some guys that really showed flashes, but no one really stood out.  Football is a team game, and even when one guy has a great game and you lose like we did, it doesn’t matter who played well and who didn’t.  We needed better effort and more heart out of every one,” said Waldstein.

In this week’s rivalry game against Harlan, the team plans to play it as just another game.  “We have to approach every game with the same preparation and the same level of effort,” said Waldstein.

As far as the rest of the season Waldstein said, “If we play the rest of our games with the same level of effort and heart that we did against Denison and Glenwood, there is no telling what this team can accomplish.  That is what we need against Harlan, and the remainder of the games this season.”

The Trojans will face the Cyclones on Friday night in Harlan at Merrill Field, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The student section theme for Friday is a black out/lime green.
