Paul Dudley is a new math teacher at AHS. He grew up in a small town in Nebraska called Gothenburg ,with two siblings. He is the oldest of the 3. Dudley went to college at Iowa State, where he majored in mathematics and a minor in statistics and a coaching endorsement.
The reason Dudley decided to come to AHS is because it is closer to his family. “It is strictly high school education and the high school has the right size of classes. The district is a good size,” said Dudley. He is not a first year teacher, though, and has taught at Dallas Center Grimes before he came here to teach at AHS.
In the future Dudley hopes he will become a coach of either track, baseball, or even coach both sports. Something about Dudley that none of his students know is that he was the president of his fraternity in college, Phi Gamma Delta.
The kind of marks that Dudley wants to make on AHS are that “math is fun and learning can be enjoyable.” Also, “being at school doesn’t have to be a drag.”
Senior Elijah Dulberg said, “Dudley is pretty outgoing. He can be kinda of a nerd, but he is a really nice person who teaches with alot of passion.”
Senior Zach Ross said, “Dudley explains things very well. Dudley’s teaching style is really different than Mrs. Humpfer’s, but he is easy to get along with fun to talk to.”
Senior Brandon Schmidtke said, “Dudley is hard to follow at times, but he is doing a good job at teaching. He is funny at times, can be strict, but is easy to get along.”
