Spaghetti Works, found in the Old Market in Omaha, Nebraska, was inspected on November 1 and was found to have 25 violations, 10 of them being labeled ‘critical’ according to WOWT.com, Channel 6 News.
Some of the violations included employees washing hands then using the same towel to dry off, foods that exceeded 7 days old, which Spaghetti Works was forced to discard, and no sanitizer in the dishwasher. Inspectors visited Spaghetti Works again three days later and the violation numbers decreased, but problems with employees washing their hands and using the same towel to dry off were still occurring.
Many students in AHS will periodically take a trip to the Old Market to go out to eat, and were shocked to hear this news. Senior Maren McNees said, “I feel like that is disappointing that there are those violations, but I’ll probably still eat there because I really like their food.” Senior Kelsey Hamilton feels like she wouldn’t eat there anymore because food can’t sit around for that long and also because you don’t really know what you’re getting in your food now that this has happened. Numerous other students who had eaten there before were also asked if the health violations would effect their decision to eat their, and they said they would still return regardless of the violations.
Many students who have dined at Spaghetti Works before still want to return because of the satisfying taste of the food and overall experience.
