The Trojan football season will close out with Friday’s game against the Glenwood Rams. After losing to the Cyclones in overtime last week, chances for a post-season appearance slipped away.  Nevertheless, the Trojans will still finish with a winning season.
They will host the Glenwood Rams for the last game of the season at 7:30 at the Trojan Bowl.  The 2-6 rams are will be competing for their first district win, while the Trojans are hoping to finish with a bang and bring the season to a 6-3 overall record and 3-3 record in district play.
Junior fullback Logan Steffens said, “We’ve had a pretty good season compared to previous years, but we didn’t achieve our goal of making the playoffs. A little disappointing considering how talented our football team is.” Junior Jez Phippen, offensive line said, “I’m looking forward to tonight’s game, it’s the last game for the seniors. It should be fun if we get a win.” Senior center Jordan Mauk said, “I’m excited for tonight, but I guess I’m not ready for the season to be over.”
Coach Woods quoted Michael Jordan when commenting on the season, “I’ve missed 9,000 shots in my career, I’ve taken 300 career game winning shots and missed, I’ve failed over and over in my life, and that why I succeed.
