Trojanns cap off season with birth to state

Senior Sierra Worth follows through on her drive. Worth finished in fifth place at regionals and will be joined by her teammates at state June 1.

After a season keyed by sweeping through the dual season and defending the Betty Heflin Tournament, the Atlantic Trojann golf team qualified for the state golf meet.  The Trojanns shot a 383, placing second at regional action play in Winterset on Monday, May 23.

Senior Sierra Worth also qualified for state individually after shooting an 87, placing fifth. “Trojann golf has been very successful this year with our only major let down being the district meet, but (an) undefeated season, first at Betty Heflin, and now state were all team goals we accomplished. Making it to state as an individual and as a team is just a great way to finish my senior year,” Worth said.

The Trojanns will travel to Adel June 1 for the state meet. The meet will take place at River Valley Golf Course.

Senior Pammy Fixmer commented on the Trojanns’ season, “Our team did awesome, and we couldn’t have done it without our hard work, dedication, and our coaches. I’m very excited for state. ”

“I’m very excited to end my senior season this way,” senior Kristen Schuler said.
