It’s a Spy’s Life

By Liz Davidson.

This a chapter-by-chapter story about a 16-year-old spy, Angela Darkmoon, as she finds her way in the mixed-up, topsy-turvy world she lives in.

Part One

Angela had always been alone for as long as she could remember.  Even when her parents were alive she had been alone.  The only difference between then and now was that she now had a house to live in.  Well that and a job, but the job she had had before.  Her parents hadn’t left a will so she was left with everything that they had owned.

She shook her head.  “Stop thinking about that and concentrate at what you are doing.” She hissed under her breath.  She raised her binoculars to her eyes and saw movement.  After she had zoomed in, she found out it was “her” group.

“It’s about time they showed up,” she muttered.  She watched as they broke into the old abandoned nickel factory, where Angela and some of her co-workers had set up a “trap” of sorts.    As the criminals cautiously proceeded into the building, Angela got ready to go in after them.

“Hermit to Prodigy. How’s that surprise we set up for them.” Angela heard from her radio transmitter what was her earring.  She recognized the voice, Jake Croston.

“Hermit, they’ve taken the bait and are proceeding towards the prize,” she replied, “It’s almost time to proceed to part B of the book.”  She watched as the lowest ranking criminal in that group sealed up the entrance where the rest of his team had gone, he looked around then put the last board in place.

“Prodigy, this is Radar.  How long will it be before part B will be able to put into action.” Another voice, from the “earring”, asked.  This voice belonged to her boss, Jonathon Tontoro.

“Five minutes, give or take.”  She sighed.  She twirled a lock of her hair, bored.

“Radar, I can see them on the camera’s we installed.  They are in place.  An- I mean Prodigy, along with Nat-I mean Alto and Jasp- I mean Plane could probably go get them.” Someone said, Angela recognized it as Clea Banks.

“Alright, you heard the lady, get going.” Johnathon told them.  Angela jumped form her stop in the high building, Nathan was below her.  She was parallel to the ground her face towards the sky.  As Angela’s fall was coming to an end, Nate got ready to catch her.  The teen spy closed her eyes just before Nate’s arms wrapped around her.

“Oh my hero!” she gushed jokingly.  Nate rolled his eyes and dropped her on purpose.  “Jerk!” she muttered angrily as she glared up at him.  He chuckled silently as Jasper approached them.  He put his finger to his lips, then pointed to the door.  Here came the big moment Angela had been waiting for.

To the author of this story. You should be proud of yourself. I have read all of them so far. You show a real talent. I don’t know if the needle writers realize it or not, however, you have quite a few families, visitors and puplic persons who are reading your needle articles. Keep up the good work and consider studying english and writing further. You have a great talent ahead!
