Last Monday the girls cross country team ran at Red Oak and were very successful.

Sophomore Ashley Wendt was the champion of the meet. This was Wendt’s first time winning a meet in her high school career. Not only did Wendt win the meet, but the Trojans won the meet as a team. Wendt said she was very happy with her finish especially because she only expected to place in the top three.

Sophomore Karsyn Rush placed 5th and was also very happy with her finish, but knows she can do better. This is Rush’s best finish in a meet this year.

Overall the Trojan girls were excited about their first place victory and look to do so again in the future.

The girls next meet will be on Sept. 17, in Kuemper.
