The AHS girls varsity basketball team played St. Albert Friday night, Dec. 5, at St. Albert.  The girls won 52-38 against the Saintes, making them 4-0 so far this season under the coaching of Kelly Juhl, Terry Hinzman, and Dan Vargason.

Senior wing Mollee Welter said, “I thought we played really well, but the first half we had too many turnovers. Then, in the second half, we came out ready to play and started pulling ahead.”

Junior guard Skye Thompson said, “I think it went really well, but we still have a lot to work on.”

The Trojans next game is Tuesday, Dec. 9 against the Red Oak Tigers at home.  The Trojans are anxious to get another victory, as they didn’t win against the Tigers last season.  Thompson said, “We have a good chance against Red Oak if we work as a team, but it will be a tough game.”
