Fall sports recently came to an end, and now it’s time for the winter sports to begin. Girls and boys basketball are already practicing, and have both ordered team shoes. Unlike the boys, this is the girls first year getting team shoes.
According to head coach Kelly Juhl, this is the first year that the girls basketball team has gotten team shoes and so far, he likes them. The original cost of the shoe was $140, but the team got them for $99. Juhl said that they got a “pretty good deal on the shoes for the team compared to the original price.”
The girls basketball team got the 2014 Hyperdunk TB shoes this year. Juhl said, “ I like them so far, they look good on the girls when they are on the floor. It looks more consistent throughout the team.”
Boys basketball assistant coach Jeremy Blake said that the boys got the Nike Lunar Hyperquickness shoes. Boys basketball has had team shoes for the past 4 years. “Team shoes are a great way to save money because we usually get good deals on them,” said Blake.
Blake intends to continue team shoes as long as they keep getting good deals on them “because they save a lot of money compared to buying other shoes that are more expensive.” The team got them for $77, and the original price was $110.
The boys shoes have an open mesh for natural motion, breathability, and durability. It also enhances natural motion in all directions. The girls shoes have a dynamic collar foam, which improves fit and comfort around the ankle. They also have a molded heel counter for additional lockdown.
Both teams got good deals on the shoes and if everything goes well, they plan to continue purchasing team shoes.
