Three drug dogs searched Atlantic High School on March 8. Students were locked in their seventh-period classrooms as the dogs and officers came through to check lockers.
According to principal Heather McKay, the time was random. However, there were prior reasons as to why the dogs were brought in.
There were originally three searches scheduled in the fall, but McKay said they had to be canceled. McKay said another more extensive search is scheduled before the end of the year.
McKay thinks the search went well and was “glad it didn’t take longer than it did.”
When asked if any drugs were found, McKay had no comment.
