On Monday Jan. 30, choirs from 16 schools invaded the halls of AHS and waited to perform on stage for a rating. Both Treble Makers and Diversity scored a 2 rating. Premiere was awarded a 1 rating. Freshman Treble Makers member Hannah Mclean reflected on the performance saying, “We did not perform as well as we could have done.” State Show Choir Contest was the last performance for the Treble Makers until Show Choir Blast in late April.
Freshman Chandler Staley said, “We performed well, but could have performed better.”
Coming up
Both Diversity and Premiere were scheduled to go perform at the Northwest Missouri State competition on Feb. 4, but had to drop out do to weather. “It was disappointing,” said senior Anne Chess. “I was looking forward to going. It’s my senior year and I wanted to perform as much as possible.”
Diversity will not perform again until Show Choir Blast, but Premiere has one competition left. On Feb. 25, they will travel to Souix City for their last competition before Show Choir Blast, assuming weather will permit their voyage.
