Anna Wieser is a 2021 AHS graduate who has returned to take on the position of our new principal secretary.
“I wanted a job that was social and let me talk to a lot of people,” she explained. “The flexibility here is so nice.” This is Wieser’s first time working in a position like this, and she’s excited for the opportunity to connect with students, families, and staff. Her role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including registering new students, handling phone calls and emails, scheduling for Principal McKay, and taking on other tasks as needed. She views it as a great way to gain experience working full-time while contributing to the school she once attended.
After graduating, Wieser attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned her degree in May 2025, with majors in interior design and gerontology. Wieser decided to return to the Atlantic to be closer to her family.“I always loved the Atlantic community and wanted to move back.” While in college, she got the chance to study abroad. Wieser spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, where she explored and learned about different cultures and traveled to France, Morocco, and England. “I would love to go back,” she said.
Outside of work, Wieser enjoys baking sourdough bread, spending time with two dogs, and hosting dinner parties with friends and family. Wieser says people can expect a “go-getter” attitude from her. She also says she is very laid back, approachable, and not intimidating.
Weiser is excited to be back at AHS, working full-time.
