As the senior class of 2025 experienced their last “first day of school,” the class also had an opportunity to congregate with peers and participate in a first, amidst a year of lasts.
On the first day of school, the AHS Student Council held the Senior Sunrise event from 6:20-7:00 am on the Trojan football field.
AHS senior and sSudent Council president, Emma Winford said that the celebration was “bittersweet” and was a “(good) way to come together as a class before endeavoring senior year.” Attendance for the early morning celebration was roughly thirty students. “I really enjoyed how it brought our grade together,” said senior Eleanor Meyer.
Atlantic Hy-Vee sponsored donuts and juice for the pupils for breakfast, while students took photos with a sign that read “Smile, You’re a Senior!” Senior Mackenzie Brown said she “loved taking photos” with her family members and friends.
