The boys’ golf team won another dual against Harlan at home with a score of 165-170.

The Trojans were led by senior Matt Gearhart, who had a rough day but was able to keep it together and birdie his last hole to finish a six over par 40. Junior Cyle Renaud started off strong and was two over par for most of his round, but went out of bounds on hole eight and bogeyed to shoot 41. Sophomore Braden Smith had a bumpy start with a triple, a par and another triple. However, with a birdie and par saves he was able to finish six over par with a 40.

Freshman Garrett McLaren had a good day on the course and was able to keep his score at ten over par with a 44. McLaren said he was hitting his spots with the driver and was able to set up good second shots which were key. “Playing the ball down was different for the first couple holes. Once I got the feel for it I got comfortable with it,” he said. Junior Tate DenBeste was unable to get his game going but was able to save some holes to put him 12 over par with a 46. Freshman Cooper Jipsen also had a good day and saved a couple of holes and was able to go 16 over par with a 50.
