Trojans Secure Ninth Win of the Season by Beating the Tigers

With the help of Scott Leonards 40 points, the Trojans took down Red Oak.

On Friday, Jan. 26. The Atlantic Trojans boys basketball team traveled to Red Oak. This would be the first game of their six game road trip.

The Trojans came out hot, putting up 23 points in just the first quarter. In the second things didn’t go as good for Atlantic, the Tigers outscored the Trojans 13-9. The second was the only quarter the Trojans did not put up over 20 points.

Coming out of half Atlantic held the Tigers to 10 points again while scoring 22. Red Oak came out in the fourth and put up 19 but still couldn’t hold the Trojans under 20. Atlantic secured their 9th win of the season with the win 76-52.

Senior Scott Leonard had a monster game, scoring 40 points and shooting 18 for 22 from the field. He also led the team with 16 rebounds and 11 of them coming for the offensive side of the ball.

Junior Logan Reilly was the next highest scorer with 9 points, he shot 3 for 6 from the field and 1 for 2 from behind the three point line.

The Trojans will travel to Harlan tomorrow, Jan. 30. for their second game against the Cyclones. Tip off will 7:30.
