Trojans Win Second Game in a Row

On Friday, Dec. 8. The Atlantic Trojans boys varsity basketball team took on the Creston Panthers in their 4th game of the season. Atlantic, who was coming off a blowout win against the Red Oak Tigers went into the game looking for their second straight win.
Both teams came out with their best defense holding each other to 10 points by the end of the first quarter. Led by senior Austin Alexander, the Trojan offense was to lethal for the panther defense and Atlantic took the lead at half 27-16. The second half was just as good as the first for the Trojans and the scoring never let up. Atlantic also played strong defense holding the panthers to only 39 points throughout the entirety of the game. Atlantic won the game 65-39 securing their second win of the year.
Alexander led the Trojan offense with 25 points sinking 7 threes and securing 6 rebounds. Senior Scott Leonard play good post game finishing with 16 points and leading the team with 7 rebounds while shooting 7 for 9 from the field. Junior Chase Mullenix finished with 14 points shooting 4 for 5 from behind the three point line.
Atlantic’s next game will be against the Glenwood Rams at Glenwood High School on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
