After coming off a tough loss earlier in the week to the Winterset Huskies, the Trojans looked to avenge it with a big win over St. Albert. On Friday, Dec. 1. Atlantic traveled to Councill Bluffs to take on the second-ranked team in 1a St. Albert Falcons in a Hawkeye 10 matchup.

The Trojans battled with the Falcons in the first and second quarter and St. Albert had the lead 27-21 at the end of the half. In the second half, shots were not falling for the Trojans and the St. Albert offense did not let up on the gas pedal. St. Albert handed the Trojans their second loss of the season after 21 points in the fourth quarter.

In his first game of the season, senior Scott Leonard recorded 15 points going five for seven from the field, five for eight from behind the free throw line and six rebounds.  Senior Austin Alexander finished with 14 points and shot three for 12 from the field. He also led the team with 7 rebounds.

Atlantic will look to secure their first win against the Red Oak Tigers tonight, Monday, Dec. 4 in the Atlantic High School gymnasium.
