2-0 Trojans to Take on 1-Win Monarchs

Trojans defense to play key part against the Monarchs.

The Atlantic Trojans are off to their best start in five years. In their first two wins they have scored 40 or more points and only given up 14 total points.

The Trojans are playing well but are facing a much more talented and experienced Monarch team who are led by senior quarterback Drew Polzin. The Monarchs have been much of a run oriented team so far with 409 total rushing yards and 142 yards through the air. They also have over 20 seniors on the roster with eight starting on offense and nine starting on defense.

Trojans senior quarterback Jaxson Eden has been good in the passing game so far this year going 23-35 through two games. He has 402 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Trojans also have a balanced running game with five players that have contributed to their 370 total yards. Atlantic’s defense has given up just 343 total yards in the first two weeks of competition.

The game is Friday in Denison. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
