On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the high school concert band and choir will be performing their late winter concert. The band will be on stage first at 7:30 p.m. in their formal black concert apparel. The songs that were chosen for this concert are “Second Suite in F,” “Prairie Dances,” “The Footlifter,” and “The Magic of Harry Potter.”

As a special guest, Principal Heather McKay will be directing the band for the song “The Magic of Harry Potter,” while the band director Jarrod O’Donnell will be sitting amongst the band playing the trombone. McKay is a fan of the Harry Potter series. “I think it is a fun idea because it will give McKay an appreciation for what the kids do in class,” said O’Donnell.

After the band, the Chamber Choir, Concert Choir and Treble Singers will take the stage, each performing two songs. All of the choirs will be singing songs that show off the unique and underlying talent that each student has. Choir director, Jennifer Gaesser said, “I think the performances will be great as long as everyone is focused.”
