Nathan Grey moved to Atlantic as a sophomore from Storm Lake, IA. He has also lived in New Hampton. As a kid, choir played a big role in his life. He said that the most influential person in his life thus far has been his Storm Lake choir director, Lindsey Rommel. “she taught me how I could become a really good singer,” Grey said. The most memorable moment of his life has been winning the “Golden Mickey” with the Storm Lake choir when he was a freshman. The Golden Mickey was won in a very prestigious choir competition at Disney World. Grey has been apart of AHS choir for 3 years.
Something that Grey loves to do even more than sing, is run track. Grey loves track so much, that he has been known to volunteer himself to run in more events than he is legally supposed to in a meet. He said his favorite event to run in was the 400m dash. “So far my best time is 62 seconds, but my goal is to get that under a minute this year,” Grey said. He said that track is different from any other sport because, “you can improve yourself for other sports, and run different events based on what sport you do.” As if choir and track isn’t enough, Nathan Grey is also a very talented archer. As a sophomore, Grey qualified for the national archery competition in Kentucky. Nathan’s future plans are to attend DMACC, and then transfer to Iowa State University, majoring in computer science.
