The Atlantic boys basketball team lead by senior Garrett Franken will travel to Winterset Tuesday evening to take on the Huskies in the 2016-2017 season opener.

This year will be the second in a row that Atlantic will open up the season vs. Winterset. Last year the game was played on Dec. 1 and the Trojans defeated the Huskies 84-46.

Both Garrett Franken and then senior Ryan Hawkins led the Trojans in baskets, both scoring 24 points each. Hawkins finished with 5 steals and a block while Franken dished the ball for six assists.

The 2016-2017 season will be without leading scorer Ryan Hawkins, as he graduated last season and originally had committed to play basketball at Wayne State, but later switched commitments to Northwest Missouri State University.
