Boys’ Cross Country Team Runs at Harlan

Dillon Sonntag

The boys’ cross country team ran at Harlan last Saturday, and came home with a fourth place finish.

Bradley Dennis was the first Trojan to cross the finish line. He finished fourth overall in the meet.

Dennis had the best finish with a time of 17:43, while Senior Phoenix Shadden ended the day with a 6th place finish and a time of 18:09. Dennis said he ran well and says that he knew the course decently well because he ran there in middle school.

His goals were to place top five but only expected to get 6th-8th. Dennis said, “It felt nice to finish first, but it doesn’t matter to me as long as the team is doing well.”

Even though the Trojans were up against some of the tougher teams in the conference, they still had a good day of running. The team finished with 139 total points, 15 points less the the fifth place team, Lewis Central.

The next meet is Thursday, September, 29, in Shenandoah.
