Last Saturday the Trojan girl’s ran in Harlan, and came home with a second place finish.

Sophomore Ashley Wendt had the best finish for the team with a time of 20:48. Sophomore Halsey Bailey placed 19th and had a personal best time of 22:23.

Bailey said she was very happy with her time, and was glad to have a personal best. She was pretty happy with the team finish, but wanted to beat Denison who got first. Bailey hopes to keep improving her time as the season goes on.

Junior Emily Saeugling placed 30th and said it was a good meet for the Trojans. “I ran a fairly good, but I don’t tend to focus on my time that much,” said Saeugling. Saeugling and Bailey both enjoyed the course and liked that there weren’t a lot of hills.

Overall the girls and the coaches were happy with the outcome of the meet.

Thursday Sept. 29, will be the girls’ next meet, in Shenandoah.
