Dress Code Cracks Down

With warm weather coming up, AHS teachers are making sure students are dressed appropriately. Many students, mostly females, have been getting dress coded lately. Girls have been wearing crop tops and tank tops with straps smaller than two inches, and have been getting dress coded.

We have a dress code policy saying all students need to wear straps two inches or thicker, and if not then you will be asked to change your top, or you will have to put on a sweatshirt over your top. The rule with the spaghetti straps are it’s not about you distracting other people during class.

McKay said, “It’s just not okay to show your shoulders in a school, it’s a place of business.”
In the e-mail, Principal Heather McKay emailed to the students it said that jackets must be taken off at arrival. McKay said, “I am talking about the big heavy bulky jackets, they are not okay but hoodies and sweatshirts can be worn.”
