SCOUTING REPORT: Atlantic Girls vs. Clarinda Cardinals

The Atlantic Trojans prepare to head on the road to play the Clarinda Cardinals tonight in Clarinda.

The 11-7 Trojans are looking to extend their five game win-streak, their only winning streak of 2016 and their first since beginning the season 4-0.

Clarinda currently stands at 2-17, their only wins coming in the season opener versus Lenox and their final game of January vs. Southwest Valley.

The Trojans and Cardinals have already faced off this season on January, 22 in the AHS gym in Atlantic. The Trojans defeated Clarinda 66-45, outscoring the Cardinals in the first three quarters 52-28.

Atlantic senior Erin Olsen is currently fourth in the Hawkeye Ten Conference in scoring, with 241 points through 18 games, averaging 16.4 points per game and shooting 31% from beyond the arch. Olsen also leads the team with 9 blocks, and 28 steals this season.

Junior Catherine Leonard leads the Trojans with 138 rebounds, 39 offensive, 99 defensive, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game. Leonard is seventh in the Hawkeye Ten in rebounds.

 

The varsity game starts tonight at 7:30.
