RECAP: Atlantic Girl’s Basketball vs. Clarinda

The Atlantic Trojans girls basketball team extended their win streak to two games after defeating the Clarinda Cardinals 66-45 Friday night in Atlantic. The Trojans improved their record to 8-7 while dropping the Cardinals to 1-13 on the season.
The Trojans have struggled to find consistent success this season, this being their first back-to-back winning streak since beginning the season 4-0. As for Clarinda, they began the season with a 72-43 win over Lenox and have only gained one other notch in the win column.
Atlantic outscored the Cardinals in the first three quarters for a combined 52-28 outing heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter however, Clarinda tried to make a comeback and outscored the Trojans, but still fell short at the final horn, giving the Trojans a comfortable win and a boost of confidence heading into a tougher stretch of their season.
The Trojans’ next three opponents consist of two teams that combine for a 25-2 record this season.
