RECAP: Atlantic Boy’s Basketball vs. Clarinda

Last Friday night the Atlantic boy’s basketball team traveled to Clarinda to play the Clarinda Cardinals. The Trojans started the game out fast and lead at the end of the first quarter 25-0.

Junior Garrett Franken came away with a steal and had a one-hand dunk. Cardinals called a timeout, and directly after senior Ryan Hawkins stole the ball and slammed it down.

In the second quarter the Cardinals managed to put some points up on the board. Clarinda scored 8 points and trailed and the Trojans 43-8 at half.

Atlantic finished out the game strong only allowing 19 more points in the last two quarters. Atlantic beat the Cardinals 66-27.

Hawkins scored his 1,000th point in his high school career. Hawkins finished the game with 22 points and Franken had 18.

The Trojans next game is Friday, Jan 29, at Red Oak.
