On Thursday, Jan. 21, the Atlantic girls traveled to Carroll for a Hawkeye 10 matchup against Kuemper. The last time these two teams met the Trojans lost 54-47. This time it was a different story. The Trojans came out on top 37-35.  

The Trojans were led by junior forward Catherine Leonard, who led the team with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Another key contributor was senior guard Skye Thompson, who went 4-8 from beyond the arc and finished the game with 13 points.

Coach Juhl said, “I was proud of our ability to fight back.”  The Trojans mounted a 5-point deficit with 4 minutes to go and ended the game on a 9-1 run.

Next the Trojans face the the Cardinals of Clarinda, Friday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. The Cardinals are ranked tenth in 2A.
