On Jan. 14, the Jazz band and Show choir will be premiering their shows for the first time before they go to competitions. Band Director Jarrod O’Donnell and 17 members of the jazz band will perform first at 7:30 p.m. The songs they will play are; “Bison Blues,” “Ballad for Benny,” “I Let a Songo Out of My Heart.” The soloists are; Emily Yager on clarinet, Anna Iekel playing piano, Corgan Peterson playing drums, Chris Krogh playing trumpet and Josh Mclean playing baritone. O’Donnell is pleased with how well the jazz band is going. “There are still some spots that need to be worked on but some sound pretty polished,” said O’Donnell
After the jazz band, show choir will perform and they will be directed by Jennifer Gaesser. Premiere show choir theme is Show Time and the songs they will show are; “Free Ride,” “I was Here,” and “Shut Up and Dance.” Diversity show choir’s theme is Don’t Mess with Fire. Their songs are; “Nothing to Lose,” “Troublemaker,” “Over OverThinking You,” and “Unstoppable/Phoenix.”
Sophomore Cora Zikuda is excited for her second performance of Swing Inn. “I’m excited to hang out with friends and performing for the first time this year,” said Zikuda.
