Regional Volleyball
October 26, 2015
The volleyball team will be competing against Clarinda during varsity regionals at Clarinda High School this coming Monday, Oct. 26. This is the team’s final shot of making it to the state tournament. If the team loses, they are done for the season, but if they win they would continue on to the state tournament.
Sidney Svoboda commented, “It will be a tough game, but we need to play hard and have fun because it could be our last.” To prepare for the game, the team has been working on defensive drills to work hard on being more relentless while playing defence. Coach Emma Walker said, “It will be a tough game for us.”
Walker hopes to stay in the game to bring her team to victory. Walker is undecided as to who will start the game, but believes sophomore Sidney Svoboda and senior Meghan Reilly will be a good pair.
Next year, Walker has many things planned to boost the support and quality of the team. They will have open gyms, agility and weight training, fundraising, and work to build positive culture. Also, Walker hopes to bring more interest to the junior high kids to get them ready to play high school volleyball.
