N. Podhajsky Places 2nd at Boys Tennis H-10 Tournament

Sophomore Grant Podhajsky serves as the #2 player at a meet last year. Podhajsky will play #1 this 2016 season.

On Tuesday, May 11, the boys tennis team traveled to Lewis Central to play at their annual conference meet. The Trojans placed seventh out of 11 teams.

In the #1 singles match, senior Nick Podhajsky placed second. He won his first two matches 9-7 and 8-3, but lost his last match in sets 0-6, 2-6. In #2 singles freshman Grant Podhajsky placed sixth. He lost his first match 5-8, won his next two matches 8-0 and 8-4, but lost his last match 3-8.

In #1 doubles seniors Kyle Krueger and Ben Parker placed sixth, winning their first match 8-4, falling in their second match 2-8, then winning their next two matches 8-5 and 9-8 in a 2 point tie break, before dropping their last match 9-7. In #2 doubles, freshmen Cooper McDermott and Luke Hohenberger placed eleventh. They lost both of their matches 3-8, 3-8.

Friday, May 15, the boys have their first districts tournament in Lewis Central.
