New to the science department at Atlantic High School this year is Taylor Williams. Williams graduated from Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Iowa, where she was active in cross country, track, and band. She then attended Simpson College where she majored in biology. Williams said she decided to come to Atlantic because she was intrigued about the new 1-1 program starting this year and liked the idea of technology being used throughout the school.
Williams is a first-year teacher. An interesting fact about Williams is that she originally went to school to become a doctor, but became a science teacher instead. She has always had an interest in teaching and wanted to work at a teaching hospital while going to school to be a doctor, but then decided to change majors. “The reason I switched majors is because chemistry and calculus make me want to cry,” said Williams. She replaced past teacher Brian Woods who taught here for two years. Williams is teaching biology and anatomy.
