Trojans defeat weather conditions and Wolverines

A hat trick, the cold, and the rain highlighted Thursday night’s Atlantic boys’ soccer game. The Trojans suffered through the terrible playing conditions, defeating the Nodaway Valley Wolverines 5-1.

With the win the Trojans improve to 4-2 on the season.

Junior Harrison Hoegh scored three goals (hat trick) to lead the Trojans.

Junior Nick Olsen and freshman Matt Smith also scored for Atlantic.

The Trojans were able to get out of the gates early, picking up a goal during the first few minutes of play.  The Trojans defense also stepped up to limit the Wolverines scoring opportunities.

The Trojans host a tournament on Saturday. Atlantic will play Kuemper and Carroll will play Harlan in the semi-final round.

The tournament begins at 10:00 a.m.
