On Feb. 25, the Premiere show choir traveled to Sioux City to compete at Bishop Heelan High School. There were six schools, including Atlantic, competing in the 3A division. Premiere placed sixth at this competition.Choir director Luke Johnson said, “I thought we put our best foot forward since we had all our students performing together for the first time. It helped with our confidence.”Sophomore Kristin Johnk said, “I thought [our show] continuously got better since we were more confident and we blended as a group.”
Reflecting on how the show choir season was as a whole, Johnson replied, “I thought we did a nice job. I think when we performed we performed well. We were in it and we were focused on what we were doing.” Johnson also hopes to make a change so that all students can be at all the performances next year.
Senior Delsin Arnold said the show “went really well, but there were some things we could have fixed.”
Looking ahead to next year, Johnson said, “I think I’m going to go back to the two show choir thing and have strong numbers in both groups. We will continue to have three concert choirs.”
