The annual NHS spring blood drive will take place on Thursday, March 1. Students and teachers 16 years of age and older are able to donate blood between 8 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Students 16 years old must have their parent permission form turned in to Sheila Hayden, NHS adviser, by Tuesday, Feb. 28.
According to Hayden, NHS has been planning for the blood drive for a little over a month. NHS has a goal to reach 110 units of blood by the end of the day. Hayden says, “With the number we have signed up right now we aren’t going to meet our goal.” The last time this goal was met was during the spring blood drive held last year.
Junior Emily Jacobsen says she is giving blood, “because I like saving lives.”
Sophomore Lillie Zablocki said, “No [I’m not giving blood] because I’m scared.”
