Emma Rose, Social Media
Junior Emma Rose, 16, loves running the social media department for journalism with two of her friends Isabelle Symonds and Kylie Templeton. Rose has been in journalism for two years. Rose said, “I like the environment in journalism and the people in it are very nice and helpful.” Throughout her two years, Rose has made many different memories. Her favorite memory was going to Media Now. Rose explained that Media Now is what made her “pursue” social media, and learning so much about it. “I feel like I’m actually improving the program when I work to put out content and that makes it very rewarding,” Rose said. Rose hasn’t written a lot of stories, but she said she really enjoys the opinion pieces. Rose isn’t just involved in journalism, she is also involved in volleyball and golf. Some of her hobbies include spending time with the residents at the Heritage House in Atlantic, running, hanging out with her dog, and spending time with her friends. “I'm really glad that I joined journalism. I've met so many people through the program as well as been given opportunities to go places I never would have gone if I wasn't in journalism,” Rose said.
