James Waggoner

James Waggoner is a Junior and a journalist at Atlantic High School. “I was curious,” Waggoner said about joining journalism and writing stories since he writes fictional stories in his free time. Waggoner also takes creative writing on Wednesdays and writes about his experience through his high school years. He gets very creative writing movie scripts and poems. So far in journalism Waggoner has enjoyed taking photos, he captured pictures at the parent/teacher conferences last semester and liked “getting the unique shots and accurate emotions from other people”. Outside of school Waggoner works at Hyvee as a checker, watches sci-fi movies, goes to school game club, game designs, and listens to music. “One of my favorite movies to watch is Spider-Verse,” said Waggoner. At home, Waggoner has two dogs, four hamsters, two cats, and a lizard that he enjoys spending his time with. As the year continues Waggoner is interested in learning more about journalism.
