Piles and piles of homework are what keep some students from wanting to go back to school. For Jaci Brosam, journalism is her gateway from this reality. “Journalism is probably the best part of my day because I like taking photos and talking to my friends,” Brosam said. She has been involved in journalism as a sophomore and plans to “stick to it.” Brosam said, “ I like capturing a whole different variety of pictures especially when you can capture people’s emotions.”
Throughout high school, Brosam has also been involved as a wrestling manager and tennis player. When Brosam isn’t wandering around the halls during school hours, you can spot her re-decorating her friends’ room or her own. During her free time, she also enjoys taking long naps and designing.
When Brosam isn’t at home, she’s probably off to work. Brosam works at the Heritage House in Atlantic. Her role as a dietary aid mostly consists of cooking, delivering food, and sanitizing the area. Brosam said, “I enjoy working with the residents and seeing their smiles every day.”
After high school, Brosam wants to look into becoming a dental hygienist or realtor. To get to that point, Brosam wants to attend DMACC for two years to get a business degree. Then she plans to go to Florida University, in hopes of finding the right job for a “fresh start.”
