Sophomore Gabriella Mendez is in Intro to Jorunalism.  One of her standout projects from last semester was a series of wrestling photos taken in December. Mendez said “I like the angles and the lighting on the wrestling pictures I took.” 

Mendez enjoys reading, watching her little brother Benny, doing football cheerleading, and managing boys wrestling. She also values spending time with her family, including her siblings Adriana, Sofia, and Benny. 

Mendez enjoys visiting Mexico to see her family “that I hardly ever see”. She also said she enjoys learning about the different cultures and traditions there. Mendez said she’s been to Mexico 2 times and stays for about a month each time. 

Mendez has done football cheerleading for 2 years and plans on doing it for the rest of her high school years. 

 At home, Gabriella has a Shih Tzu named Gizmo. In addition to all these activities, She enjoys reading young adult romance books such as Lynn Painter and Jennifer Lynn Barnes.. Gabriella looks forward to continuing to explore her interests and further develop her skills in journalism during her high school journey.
