Erik Ramirez, JP Student
Erik Ramirez is a high school sophomore and a first-year journalist. His favorite accomplishment in journalism was writing his first story with Garret VanHorn about AHS’s new exchange student. Ramirez said, “It was a really interesting topic to learn and write about.” He feels appreciated when writing stories or taking pictures when he gets positive feedback.
He enjoys reading and listening to music when not writing his stories. Ramirez said he particularly enjoys reading because “you kinda disassociate from the environment around you and it is almost freeing in a way.”
Ramirez is not participating in any extracurricular activities this year. He said, “I chose academics over extra-curricular activities…I have never really had any interest in participating in sports and other activities.” But he enjoys “trying different things like journalism” and wants to expand his horizons and discover more of his interests and new skills.
