Annabelle Meyer is a junior at AHS and has been taking journalism since her sophomore year. She manages and creates posts on AHS Needle’s Instagram page while also putting up the picture of the day. One of her favorite aspects of journalism is picture-taking, alongside her posts on Instagram. Having the ability to capture a moment on camera and to be able to see the raw emotion on people’s faces in pictures is a staple of why she pursues journalism. With that in mind, it’s no wonder she won an award from Media Now—a journalism camp—for submitting a picture vivid in emotion. Outside of journalism, Meyer works as a girl’s soccer manager, taking stats and getting out equipment. “You chase after balls,” she said. At home, Meyer will spend time with her dog, Sadie, a 4-year-old basset hound, and sleep, an activity they both love equally. Meyer’s peers consider her to be quiet and reserved, with “little moments of frustration” here and there.  After she finishes high school, she plans to become a radiologist, working with radiology technology such as MRI machines.
