Allyson (Ally) Anderson has spent a lot of her high school career on the softball field pitching for the Atlantic Trojans. She has earned numerous awards in softball including second-team All-Conference her freshman year, first team All-Conference and second team All-State her sophomore year, and first team All-Conference unanimous, first team All-State and first team All-District her junior year. Anderson said that pitching for five years has been not only the most fun but has been the greatest learning experience while in high school. A big moment in Anderson’s life was going to State her sophomore year in softball. She said that she will never forget this moment and will be able to tell people that she was the first Atlantic softball pitcher to make it to State. Anderson’s softball coach Terry Hinzmann has had a large impact on her while in high school. She said, “He has always pushed me to be the best I can be.”

Anderson spends her off-season participating in basketball. When she isn’t playing sports, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs Buddy and Shooter and watching movies. She also likes to go horseback riding with her friends. She loves being in the pasture with her four horses Cowboy, Rocky, Lana and Rosie. Andersen said, “It’s just so relaxing.”

Anderson has always had a passion for working with animals. When she is finished with high school in May of 2018, she plans on going to college at DMACC, where she will play softball and work toward her long-time dream of becoming a veterinarian.
