NEWS BRIEF – Wi-Fi Disabled to Students’ Phones
In an effort to minimize off-task use of phones, the administration is limiting wi-fi access to computers only.

Students, teachers and guests at AHS will no longer be able to use the school’s wi-fi on their phones. Vice Principal Matt Alexander explained that the change was to “minimize the distraction” phones cause during the school day. While students can still access the internet through the use of their own data, the school’s switch to a closed wi-fi system will no longer provide access during the school day. Students with unlimited data may not change behaviors, but those who pay for their data usage might cut back on in-school use.
Alexander said that it is possible, with the right behavior from students, to eventually turn the wi-fi back on.
