Trojan Volleyball takes home another tournament victory
Trojans win the Championship at Southwest Valley.
On Saturday Sept. 23, the Trojan volleyball team traveled to Corning for a tournament.
The Trojans squared off against Lenox in their first match of the day. The girls won 21-16 and 21-14. Then the Trojans played the Spartans from Exira-EHK and lost 14-21 and 16-21. Ending pool play facing AHSTW and pulling out the victory in a 3 set match by the scores of, 21-6, 17-21, and 15-9.
In the semi-finals the Trojans played against the Southwest Valley Wolverines and won 25-18, 21-25, and 15-9.
The girls then faced the CAM Cougars in the Championship. The Cougar took the first set 24-26, but the Trojans rallied back to win the second set 25-18. The Trojans won the third set 15-7.
Freshman Alyssa Derby said, “My serves were a lot better than normal. The team played well, and we all played together.”
The girls will travel to Council Bluffs for a triangular Sept. 26, against the Creston Panthers and the Lewis Central Titans.
