Girls’ XC Places Fifth at Carroll Kuemper Meet
September 20, 2016
The Trojans traveled to their Carroll Kuemper meet last Saturday morning.
The Trojans placed fifth as a team, and also had one girl place in the top ten.
Sophomore Ashley Wendt placed 7th overall, and was the best place for the Trojans. Wendt is coming off a previous victory last week at Red Oak, and is continuing to be a leader for the girls’ team.
Wendt said she was happy with the outcome of the meet and proud of the team. According to Wendt there were some tough opponents in Carroll which impacted the meet greatly.
“This was a very fun meet,” said Wendt.
Wendt’s goals for her next meet are to place in the top five individually.
Freshman Pluma Pross was the second best runner for the Trojans last weekend, placing 18th. Pross said she is looking to improve her time and strides to be one of the Trojans’ top runners. Some things Pross hopes to do in the next meet are place in the top 10 individually and win as a team.
The Trojans will be running Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Creston.
